FCRCFC

Welcome to the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club (FCRCFC). We are a non-profit organization that enjoys building and flying model aircraft. The public is welcome to attend our club meetings that occur on the 4th Monday of every month. Meetings are held at the Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad building at 7:30 PM. The public is also welcome to join us at our flying field for yearly events or as a guest of a club member. Our field is located right next to the Fluvanna County Landfill off of Route 6. Click here for directions and a map to our field. Access our field rules here. If you are interested in joining FCRCFC, please see the contact page for further information. To become a club member, you must join the Academy of Model Aeronautics and only club qualified pilots may fly at the field by themselves. Club and AMA membership information and forms can be found at the Club Information page.

"If You Built It You Can Come" Builders' Showcase Event

The club's final event of the season will be held Saturday, October 11th from 9 AM to 3 PM, and it's an event you will not want to miss.  Under the baton of CD Dave Beazley, builders from all three flying disciplines - radio control, free flight, and control line - will display and fly aircraft they have built from kits, plans, or totally from scratch.  Titled "If You Built It You Can Come (if you didn't build it you can still come)", the event is sure to draw many interesting aircraft built by pilots from around the area.   There will be raffles, refreshments, great flying, and a number of "People's Choice Awards" for best in show in several categories.  And, even if your building skill is limited to finishing off ARF's (and believe me, the "almost ready" part of ARF has different meanings with different ARF makers), come on out and fly it - one of the awards is for best ARF.  More details in the flyer that will appear as a link in this space very soon.  This event promises to be a very fun day with lots to see and lots of great flying - don't miss it!  Click here for a flyer.

Radio Control Piloting for Animal Welfare Shindig (RC-PAWS), was held Saturday June 14th on a picture perfect day for flying. The event was a major fundraiser for three animal welfare organizations right here in Fluvanna County.   Over 100 people out to see some great flying, enjoy lunch provided by two local caterers, and meet representatives (including dogs and cats) from all three beneficiaries.  A listing of sponsors, raffle prizes, and links to the beneficiaries can be found by clicking here.
